Annual Rent Increase
A new CPI increase of 3.2% is effective as of July 1, 2008. This is the earliest date that rents can be increased. Tenants may only be given one increase in any 12-month period, and the rent increase cannot take effect earlier than the tenant's Anniversary Date. In addition, California law requires that tenants be provided with either 30 days or 60 days advance notice of a rent increase (depending on the percentage increase).
The allowable annual rent increase for the previous year was 3.3%. Please read the ordinance for more details.
